Delicate Little Flowers

Tuesday, 20 November 2012

Over the last two days I made a vintage inspired floral fascinator.

I've always wanted to have my own 1950s style floral hat/fascinator and after gaining some inspiration online I set off to Lincraft and Spotlight knowing exactly what I wanted!

I was after delicate flowers of various colours, I wanted it to be feminine, pretty, fun and reminiscent of the beautiful floral hats worn by women in the 1950s.

The start of my project: flowers, fascinator base and a glue gun
It goes quite well with a white crisp dress, I'll let the fascinator be the main focus this time instead of my dress
The Fascinator took about two and a half hours to complete - which I broke up over a couple of days as I was quite busy.
Crazy hand movements as I tell my brother to angle the camera a certain way
A little bit of hand-stitching to secure the material on the back

I love all of the different coloured flowers!

I'm looking forward to wearing over summer... Or anytime really!

P.S. 1 month until my birthday!
