It's already Autumn but we are only just starting to feel the cool weather now, so here is the last one on the blog until that hot weather returns!

This is officially my last swim post for the season, Autumn weather is starting to settle in and after these photos were taken it poured with rain so we ran to the car but it was so fun, I love running through the rain and I love swimwear so I was feeling pretty happy (especially since we managed to get some photos without risking my camera).

This cut out design is sassy and has some great nautical vibes with the gorgeous stripes. I haven't tried a cut out swimsuit like this before but I am glad that I have now, it is really gorgeous and a little bit different. I always love swimsuits that are quite a simple design but with the detail of say a cut out like this one it just makes it a bit more interesting and fun. My usual size small in UV swim is again a wonderful fit and it felt nice and supportive. UV have a lot of different styles, colours and cuts in their swimwear range which is great because it's nice to have choice when shopping for swimwear. Like my last UV post (here) the swimsuit I featured had a lot of alternative pieces to what I featured.

I made my way to the sewing store today and bought fabric + patterns (yes more haha), they were having a pretty great sale and I picked up some things on clearance that I have been wanting so it was a very worthwhile visit. A trip to the sewing store is my happy place and then I get a little bit hyped up because I have so much fun in these stores lol!

Madeline Shoes - c/o Shoe Fun
Hairflower - Handmade

Great skirts and cute tops will always be a sure way to grow your wardrobe with the added ability to mix and match.

The Celine Top which also comes in light pink is one of the most adorable tops to enter my wardobe. I love that it's quite a simple design at the front but turn around and there is a huge party (bow) at the back. Saying this I still consider it a subtle detail as it is the same colour as the top and it can just jazz up any old skirt or trousers, it's just a little bit extra. This will be easy to pair with lots of things in my wardrobe which in the end means it's always going to be on rotation in my wardrobe.

Now the skirt is on opposite ends of the top, it's colourful and full of detail, something that Hell Bunny always does so well and I am always a sucker for a floral print but I love the added combination of the harlequin print. The pleats make it even more elegant, the skirt has pockets and it can be both a casual or dressy item depending how you decide to style it. I took my regular size xs for Hell Bunny again for both pieces.

I'm wearing these gorgeous shoes again and I did mention that you'll probably be seeing a lot of them because they are beautiful and go with almost everything!

I finished making another dress on the weekend and it's so cute, can't wait to share all of these outfits that I have been making, I keep saying that but they really will be coming to the blog soon!

Floral swimwear glamour to brighten what was a stormy day by the beach!

Hairflower - Made by me

I took a day trip to Newcastle today with mum, despite the constant bursts of rain I do not waste any opportunity to pop on a beautiful bikini and snap some photos along the way. I have always loved visits in the past to Newcastle as the beaches are beautiful, it's so nice to go on big walks there whilst also watching the big ships enter and exit the harbour.

This is my second last swimwear post of the season (yes it is Autumn now, but is only now starting to feel like that). I love an interesting swim top like this mixed with a low bikini style bottom. It's fun, sophisticated and a little bit cheeky all in one. I am wearing sizing small for Unique Vintage swim and the fit is awesome as always! My hair got very windswept today but that is what going to the beach is all about so I will not deny the crazy beach hair. This swim top stays in place well, you can wear the top over the shoulder or off shoulder, the elastic on the top is nice and sturdy to handle either way.

This bikini print also comes in a more classic style bikini top, there is a high waist bottom option and a full piece too, I love high waist but I don't mind mixing it up with cute low waist bottoms too. This is such a pretty, feminine swim look and I love that this particular top can be totally wearable with a high waist skirt or pants for either a beach side or casual look on it's on... Talk about swim to cafe outfit goals! I love the texture and look of the swim material used for this bikini, it's a little bit different too and I am all for diversity in my swimwear collection.

I have a couple more looks from my day trip coming to the blog soon and oh my gosh I am so excited about the new dress I started making a couple of days ago. I promise that I will be sharing my creations soon, can't wait!

In the Cactus Garden

Friday, 13 April 2018

This has to be one of the most fun dresses that I own, I love everything about it!

Outfit Photos by Mum

Outfit Details:

Marianne Dress - c/o Hell Bunny
Belt - Dotti
Petticoat - eBay
Earrings - Lovisa
Hair Flowers - Kmart
Shoes - I Love Billy

If there's ric-rac and pom pom trim on a dress you know I'm going to love it and of course I have a lot of love for this beautiful Hell Bunny dress! After having a bit of hair styling drama the other day due to weird weather I shoved a whole bunch of bobby pins in my hair after plaiting it, chucked in some flowers and made my way to the cactus garden, I thought it was going to rain, it looked like it but in the end it didn't even rain.

The Marianne Dress features a super full skirt which is perfect for twirling (as demonstrated above) with plenty of room to fit a petticoat under, I decided to pop one on this time though I am not one to wear petticoats often and the dress looks amazing with or without one. The dress also features adjustable straps, has pockets and a back zip. I swear this is a dress of happiness, I was the girl twirling around the cactus garden having a good laugh, a good dress that lifts your mood is always a good thing.

Wearing my usual size xs in Hell Bunny the fit is perfect, I decided to add one of my belts to draw more attention to my waist and to continue with the red accessory theme I had going on this particular day. This cotton dress is a summer dream and as usual Hell Bunny always continues to impress me with their gorgeous designs and beautiful prints.

I'm off to have some cheese and fruit before I continue working on my current sewing project. Have a great weekend!

Cherry Belle and Shoe Fun

A beautiful retro dress and the most gorgeous heels, this is a happy outfit indeed!

Photos by Mum

Outfit Details:

Cherry Belle Dress - c/o Maiocchi
Cristofoli Madeline Shoes - c/o Shoe Fun
Belt - Princess Highway
Earrings - c/o Erstwilder
Hat - Rivers

There's nothing like a great dress and a fabulous pair of heels to pick up my mood, this was the outfit for that.

Maiocchi is an Aussie label, all dresses are designed and made in Brisbane which is awesome! They offer a wide variety of styles but I could not resist this beautifully made dress with it's excellent fit and perfectly retro print. Made of a lovely thick cotton the dress is one that just seems to fit me so well and I could instantly see how great the quality was.
It was beautiful warm day when I wore this dress a couple of weeks ago, though I think with the thick cotton and a bit of layering I can wear it during Autumn and winter too. I was advised to select the size 6 with my measurements and they were right, the fit is spot on and just really comfy too. I added a green belt of my own to complete the look with some simple styling, I'm really impressed and happy to have been introduced to this Australian label, it's always nice to find Aussie labels that are very much your style.

Now onto these stunning shoes! Shoe Fun is an Aussie store that stocks some of the best retro, quirky and beautiful shoes... They are a go to store because they have everything I need (or just really, REALLY want) which is also very dangerous. I was offered these beautiful shoes which also come in black, hot pink and green. I went for white because they felt summery and would go with most things in my wardrobe. I opened the shoe box when I picked them up from my PO Box and went "oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh" the crisp white with a floral lace design and scalloped edges speaks to me on so many levels. I then turned them around and would you look at that, pink soles, omg!

I put them on in the car straight away and my usual size 40 was the perfect fit.  I also love this size heel as it provides the perfect amount of height and combined with a thicker heel makes them really comfy. I love a strappy shoe like this too, I am someone who walks really fast (I swear it's my nautral pace) so I like my feet to be strapped in for the ride. I wore them for a walk along the waterfront for their first outing and they felt very comfy, expect to see them paired with some other looks coming to the blog soon! Shoe Fun always provides fast and friendly service, they're always happy to answer any questions I may and usually have. Be sure to check out all of the other beautiful shoes they have on offer.

I spent the weekend sewing a dress and oh my gosh I think it's one of my favourite creations to date, so excited to share photos of it and talk about my sewing goals a little more.

Cactus Crazy

Wearing some of Hell Bunny's latest offerings, if you love a good cactus print then this skirt has your name on it!

Photos by Mum

Outfit Details:

Rio Top in Ivory and Cactus Skirt - c/o Hell Bunny
Pink Jelly Purse - c/o Sun Jellies
Cactus Brooch + Earrings - c/o Erstwilder
Velvet Headband - Princess Highway
Shoes - I Love Billy

If it has a cactus print I am most likely going to love it and I can report that I absolutely LOVE the new Hell Bunny cactus print from their Spring/Summer range.

I always love to wear their skirts so this one is something to be excited about! The flowering cacti on a black background with polka dots, hints of purple is a beautiful combination, it's a interesting print without being too loud. Wearing size xs the fit is very good, there is an extra inch or so room in the waist which is the usual case but as I always say, I like that bit of room for the comfort factor and I just add a belt if I want to bring something in a bit more.

The Rio top is another new season addition and I think a staple item in any wardrobe for the fact that it will go with just about anything and is just a gorgeous summer top to wear. It features a frill, elasticised top and a back zip. Size xs is the best fit for me, I love that it can be worn on and off your shoulders. Both pieces are 100% cotton which makes them perfect for hot weather which is always my number one choice during hot Aussie weather. I look forward to styling these pieces differently next time, it's always fun to mix and match separates like these.
