Feeling Festive

Tuesday 15 December 2015

The tree is up, I have been stringing lights around the house and I have almost finished my Christmas shopping... So here are a couple of festive outfits as I can't help but dress for Christmas each year!

Annie Dress - c/o Rock n Romance (The Seamstress of Bloomsbury)
Ginger the Christmas Cookie Brooch - c/o Erstwilder
Shoes - I Love Billy
Headscarf - eBay

This dress has been wonderful for the hot weather as the rayon fabric is so light and comfortable, it's loose waist is also perfect for lounging around or dancing - in which I like to do of these things very much. Since it's Christmas time and all I thought, hey let's jazz this dress up for Christmas with a bit of green and my super cute Erstwilder brooch. Ginger is currently sold out on the website but you may track one down from a stockist. Ginger is a key reminder that it's almost time to start baking gingerbread and other goodies soon.

If you are in Australia be sure to take advantage of free express shipping (expires midnight 17th December).

Lisa Dress - c/o Rock n Romance (The Seamstress of Bloomsbury)
Shoes - Target
Brooch - Vintage

It was stinking hot when I wore this dress but I managed quite well in it, I was excited to wear it out because I love a good tartan dress or skirt. You will see below that the humidity made my hair extra frizzy and puffy but hey that's my hair a lot of the time and I don't mind at all. This dress is going to be a classic piece for Autumn and Winter so it will be great to get lots more wear out of it then. It also comes complete with a matching belt too just to top it off and I really do love matching belts. For now I have thought of Christmas whilst wearing it and added some holly to my hair and a vintage brooch that I have had for ages!

I am wearing size 8 in both of these dresses, the first dress has a larger waist on purpose as it is perfect for dancing so if you like a more fitted waist it may not be the dress for you. The second dress is a lot more fitted though if you are worried about sizing or have a bigger bust and like a bit more room in the back/shoulders I recommend sizing up. If you have any other questions regarding size just ask the team at Rock n Romance they are very helpful and know the brand well.

I finally finished the Christmas skirt that I keep mentioning every couple of blog posts - maybe that was just me making public reminders for myself to finish it before Christmas comes and goes... Anyway be sure to keep an eye out for it on the blog soon.

  3. I find it so difficult to think of festive clothes being summery, but you certainly make these two dresses play the part. As beautiful as ever! Kx

  4. Gorgeous dresses on! I love the back button details on the red one and the plaid one is just perfect! I was going to say they look like the perfect Christmas dresses for you in Australia until I read the part that you were really hot in the plaid one. I guess it's made of a flannel kind of material rather than just a regular cotton. At least you will have a dress that will be perfect for when the Autumn season comes!

    1. Thank you so much! The plaid dress is actually a light cotton fabric but it was almost 40 degrees that day so I was just a bit too covered up for a hot day. I really love plaid in Autumn so I am excited to wear it more then. x
