Sewing: Butterick B6322 Gertie Pattern

Sunday 2 February 2020

Okay, so these photos are from December 2018 when it was my birthday and I wanted nothing more than to the reptile park as it had been years since I last went. I made this dress about a week before my birthday so I had the perfect Australiana themed dress to wear. This is probably my favourite dress that I have sewn!

Dress - Me-made
Pattern: Butterick B6322 Gertie
Fabric: Jocelyn Proust Warratah Fabric via Spotlight

Hat - Seed Heritage
Brooches - c/o Erstwilder
Shoes - c/o Charlie Stone Shoes

I love looking back at this dress and I have worn it so many times so that is always a good sign that it is a good make. How beautiful is this Jocelyn Proust Warratah fabric? I can't help but feel a little sad thinking of all of the Australian animals and the land that has been destroyed from the bushfires.

If you would like to donate to the fires please do, when it comes to donating to the wildlife try even donating to smaller organisations so they directly get the funds. Donating to our firefighters and the people the people directly affected by this is vital of course too.

When I first sewed this dress with some cheaper practice fabric I loved it immediately at that point too, I'm thinking about making another one too. When you find a dress, pattern and silhouette that you love so much I see no shame in making as many as you like! When I flick between both dresses I see major improvements with this one and that is always rewarding when sewing.
