I haven't had a sewing post on the blog in so long, I've been busy which has left no time for sewing.

I bought this vintage 1950s pattern a few months ago online and I bought the fabric from a thrift store for on $2, the fabric is not vintage. I love the beautiful colours of this fabric and how light it is which is perfect for an Australian summer. The pattern is also perfect for summer, especially with the low back - the dress even has pockets!

My talented mum helped me sew this dress as I am still learning and she is amazing! We recently picked up an overlocker which has made our sewing projects looking neat and professional. Our last overlocker broke a while before she started teaching me how to sew (I've been sewing for almost a year now), so it has been great to learn how to use that too.

I can't wait to wear this cute dress out now that the weather is warm and I would love to make a few more varations of it with different fabric as it is such a fun and flattering cut!
