Wearing some simple but staple items that are perfect for any pin-up girls wardrobe!

I love to wear all sorts of things from bright colours, to novelty prints and clothing with intricate details... But today I am going back to basics because you can never look past simple items that are also very versatile.
My past selections from Unique Vintage have ranged from beaded 20's dresses, maxi dresses, floral 50's dresses and swimwear etc. But this time I thought that it is important to not overlook the simple things that are easy to wear and items that I consider important in a retro wardrobe - or any wardrobe for that matter.
I have often been asked what can one wear when they don't want to draw to much attention to themselves but still have the pin-up look. To me a simple top and a skirt like this is exactly that and I love that you can create multiple looks with these pieces and with what you already have. This outfit would be cute with a cardigan too, I had my trenchcoat on before and after these photos. I went with size small for both the top and skirt and love the fit. Another bonus is that the skirt has pockets and the top has cute little bows on the sleeves, I love little details like that.
To brighten up my look I added my Revere Folie anchor earrings (which I am obsessed with - as you can imagine) and these amazing heels which I featured recently. Oh and the hat, I am sunhat obsessed, I wore the cream version of this hat a while ago and just love how big it is and that it is so classic and elegant. A big sunhat is another staple item for me and these ones are quite versatile too. Who doesn't want to look glamorous whilst being sun safe at the same time? I
I have so much to do this weekend, it hasn't stopped lately and I still more unpacking to do - but we are settling in well at the new house. Have a great weekend!

I really love this simple but chic look on you, Kayla.
ReplyDeleteYou look as glamorous and pretty as always, and the hat is amazing!
Have a great weekend, too!
Many hugs,

Agreed completely regarding a classic skirt and blouse (and/or cardi) being a marvelous way to rock a vintage inspired look in a potentially less conspicuous manner. I find that vintage inspired overalls/dungarees and capri pants can be great in that regard, too.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely outfit. Classic, fun and pretty.
Have a stellar weekend!

So simple and perfectly put together. I really like the swing of your skirt, and the shoes are fabulous! Kx
ReplyDeleteI have one of those tops in the stripe print and it's really such a fab separate. So soft and comfy! I agree that having a wardrobe full of things like this means the possibilities are endless - it's where I'd recommend anyone wanting to dress like this starts out in fact. That hat is divine by the way x
ReplyDeleteJust lovely : )
