Wearing a gorgeous floral dress that could easily be worn all year round... I can't go past a floral pint with a black background!

When heading into Autumn I'm always looking for gorgeous dresses with longer sleeves, this Emily and Fin dress is a perfect transitional piece. It is made of a rayon blend so whilst the fabric is quite nice and cool for spring or a cooler summer day it is a great piece to layer with stockings, cardigans and coats for autumn and winter.

I still need to pull out my stockings + buy more for the cool days ahead but about a month or so ago I wore this dress out for a few hours of walking around a shopping centre and a quick trip to the gardens on the way home and I felt fab!

A floral print dress with a black background has to be one of my favourite things, it is always so glamorous and a little unusual compared to the usual pastels or bright floral prints, it just feels super sophisticated. This dress can be a little more formal and professional too with this colour scheme. I decided to wear it with a black beret and some open toe heels, probably a weird mix but it turned out to be quite a warm afternoon.

I went for my regular size xs for Emily and Fin, the fit is great and I have a bit of extra room in the waist which is always what I prefer. This dress has pockets, is fully lined and the skirt is nice and swishy for twirling, always important. I really like the low cut back too, it adds even more elegance to this gorgeous dress.

I'll definitely be layering this dress up for the cool weather with a coat, it's going to be one of those dresses I regularly reach for as it's just so easy to wear and is so comfortable.

Yesterday I had a photoshoot with one of my favourite brands, Rasaleela! It was such a fun day and there was even a fluffy cat that lived at the studio just chilling on set and sleeping on the lounge... I'll be sure to share photos of from the shoot here once they can be published.

Have a great weekend!

  3. That's a really lovely dress, and a very practical one too - I couldn't tell which brand it was actually, that's a bit of a different print for Emily and Fin, they usually do brighter colours and different prints. So, I'm surprised it's by them! You look lovely in these photos, the beret was a good choice too ;)

  4. Yay for berets! We might be heading into summer here, but the weather is so dire I'm still wearing them... This dress doesn't look like E&F actually, as Porcelina says, other than it has that longer length that they favour and makes it impossible for me to wear half their styles without alterations. Le sigh. Looks great on you though! x

  5. So cute! You really do rock hats so well. I have serious hat envy!! I also love that even though the dress is black, the beautiful blossoms brighten it up just enough!!

  6. Ooh, how I love a dark, romantic floral! And paired with the black beret it is practically the perfect combination!
