Last year I blogged a gorgeous dress by Love ur Look which is still one of my favourites to wear in the warmer seasons and now I have another pretty floral dress on the blog today.
I love that the focal colour for this dress is yellow, the floral print is gorgeous and the yellow buttons are really sweet. I decided to style it with lots of red and I think it makes the yellow really pop on this dress. This dress is 100% cotton making it really breathable and extremely wearable for that hot Aussie heat but pairing it with a cardigan and a coat makes it totally wearable during the cooler seasons.
I can be a little picky when it comes to shirtwaist dresses as they don't all suit me but I think this one is really cute and flattering too. I am wearing size small, it's a good fit overall though there is an inch or two extra in the waist which doesn't bother me too much as I pull my waist in with the tie. Other features that I like about this dress includes the two front pockets, the length of the dress and the fact that it's lined.
Although it looks like quite a warm day in these photos it was actually freezing but this beautiful sun was very much welcomed when Renee and I were taking pics in the garden. I'm looking forward to seeing flowers in bloom come spring because there aren't any in my local gardens but as I said in my last post there's lots of beautiful greenery.
I'm pleased to report that I spent most of Saturday sewing a dress that is almost finished, yay! I will finish it off next weekend and then hopefully start the next project I have in mind. It felt so good to finally have some time to sew as I always miss it when life gets so busy.

ReplyDeleteI really love this look!! The accesories are perfect!! And the dress beautiful and elegant. So preety!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous dress! I love the delicate print, and the red accessories really set it off.
ReplyDeleteI have a problem with shirtwaist dresses too - I tried one on a few months ago and it was so unbearably awful on me and I just couldn't figure out why, but I had to send it back as much as I loved it. This one is cute though! I think it's in the sleeves, partly... if the sleeves and shoulders are off it looks bulky and weird? Anyway, the colours are beautiful - you can't have too much red in any outfit! x
ReplyDeleteOoooo I am so excited to see the final dress when you're done!! And THIS outfit - a girl after my own heart. You cannot go wrong with RED (I am wearing red head to toe right now actually)!! It is seriously the best and this purse is just so fun (I love mine)!
ReplyDeleteAll that red is just fab against the floral print. I am yet to try a Love Ur Look dress but I hear good things about them. X
