Well it was a lot of sunshine to be honest but we were expecting a rainy trip to the gardens!

The Noely dress by Stop Staring is pretty, sweet, fun and perfect for spring/summer. It could also transition to Autumn and Winter since the fabric is a thick stretch cotton that would look great with a cardigan or with a coat over top (I will be sure to test it out).
I went to the local Japanese garden with Renee a couple of days ago on an unexpected sunny day, we have had nothing but rain the whole week and more to come. I haven't been able to shoot any outfits as it has been a bit unpredictable. Whilst it has been annoying in a blogging sense it has been nice to see so much rain after the constant heatwaves we experienced throughout February and I love falling to sleep to the sound of rain.
I was very excited by the cute ducklings and I am always very distracted by the Koi Fish when I visit this garden so I was a bit giggly and had to watch them all for a while before taking photos. The fish kept swimming into the ducks or they kept swimming into the fish but they all seemed to get along just fine.

As for the dress I am obsessed as it is just so damn cute but is sophisticated at the same time. I am wearing my regular Stop Staring size small and this dress has a good amount of stretch for comfort and a lovely fit.
I went for simple styling which included one of my favourite second hand hats and a pair of my favourite heels to go with the dress. I wear both this hat and heels a lot and because they are quite simple I think that they complemented the dress quite well.
I'm sewing two dresses at the moment, I don't usually like to work on multiple projects but I really want to make one for an event coming up so hopefully I can get it finished in time. I've been hiding away at my sewing desk in the evenings determined to get these projects done, I'm also using rayon fabric for the first time which is a little fiddly but all good practice to improve my sewing skills, I always like to challenge myself.
Have a great week!
