Pink and Black

Sunday, 24 July 2016

Today's outfit of the day brought to you by some lovely winter sun (though still freezing) and faster internet to upload my images.

The Seamstress of Bloomsbury Bonnie Blouse and Pink/Black Circle Skirt - c/o Rock n Romance
Eclipse Earrings - c/o Revere Folie
Sunglasses - Thrifted
Beret - Forever New
Stockings - eBay
Shoes - I Love Billy

I have been wearing quite a lot by this brand lately (mostly dresses) but have recently had the chance to try some of the separates.

When I was a kid I went through a stage of wearing full on pink outfits or if not I had to leave the house with something pink on. That was my silly little fashion rule for about a year or so and I loved it. I still love the colour pink but wear it in smaller, more subtle doses and this skirt lets me tap into those pink obsessed days... I must find an old photo to share!

As you may remember from previous posts I have been wearing a size 10 in this brand rather than my usual 8. The blouse is a perfect fit and now I want it in the other colour ways. This blouse sits at the waist which is great for wearing with high waist skirts and trousers. I love the tie, buttons and just how versatile it is.
The skirt is a little big on my waist but it still has a very nice fit and the belt let me nip it in, these pieces go perfectly together.

Do not be fooled by the sun, when I took off my coat I was freezing but once I jumped around I warmed up a bit. These pieces can easily be worn during the colder seasons with stockings, a cardigan and coat but they will be amazing for summer. Rayon is one of my favourite fabrics to wear during a hot Aussie summer.

I am going to finish off Sunday with more unpacking and more coffee because I still have lots to get through. I told Max before we moved in together that he would be living with me and my dresses... Though he already realised that, haha.

  1. You were very brave taking off your coat for the photos. This weekend was a real cold one. Great outfit :)

  2. That's one of the challenges of being a fashion blogger, isn't it? Sometimes you have to suffer to get the right shot! Love the outfit, though - the skirt and blouse are very cute, and I love the little beret with them. A sweet and very classic look.

  5. Classic colourway, always works!

Your hair is nice like that, is it just pinned in sections? X

  6. This looks amazing! I really love the combination of pink and black.
I really know what you mean, when I moved in together with my boyfriend we needed a new closet. I told him we should buy the large one, he thought the smaller one was just fine. I'm sure he regrets his decision now. ;-)

    Many hugs,

  7. Considering you're in the middle of a house move, you're doing better than me on the outfit photos front! I haven't taken any for a while now, so it's a good thing I've got a stockpile of them or my blog would be pretty quiet right now!! I never really wear pink, although I did go through a phase of loving pink and black together so the old emo me can quite well appreciate this outfit ;)

  10. I love every piece of your outfit - from your beret to your shoes. I cannot do pink, but I adore this shade on you. It may be a trick of the light, but I also really like the slightly darker shade that comes from the fishnets. Kx

  12. Such a fun, fabulous look. I'm so digging the marriage of round black sunnies and a jaunty pale grey beret partnered with a pink polka dot skirt. What a cool combination!
