We though baby would be here by now but that's not the case, she has been making us wait but this is a normal gestation period for babies anyway and very common for first time mums.
I have not been stressed or worried, just excited to meet her. Everyday she does her usual movement routines which is always the main thing.
Week 40+ I felt pretty good except for suddenly having a really sore lower back, here I was thinking that it could be an early sign of labour but turns out this gal flipped around to be posterior with her spine on mine which was quite uncomfortable. I walked around the house and got off the lounge say ouch many times. The midwives advised keep up the walks if I could, increase the amount of gym ball exercises I was doing and try not to recline back into the lounge. I am pretty sure it worked because I don't have really bad pain now just your standard bit of full term back pain. The midwives will be able to tell me that soon but it looked like her bum poking out this morning when I woke up.
I have been having bursts of energy and then periods where I just want to lay down and nap so I just listen to my body and the rest is probably a good thing as labour approaches.
I wasn't really that keen on taking many photos or dressing up this week (I didn't really go anywhere anyway) also it has been sooooooooo hot lately. So I just got a few pics here and there even though I was not that motivated to do so but I'm glad there are some.
Because I'm over my estimated due date I had to have a ctg scan to detect the babies heart beat, this took about 30 minutes or so and the midwives and Drs gave the results the all clear that she is doing just fine and healthy. It was actually quite soothing listening to her heart beat for such an extended time.
The end of my pregnancy is near, it's going to be strange not having a bump and feeling her movements from the inside each day. Max and I are just so excited to meet her, hold her, cuddle her and start this new journey together. It is such a surreal feeling.
